Art Calendar 2021

Posted on 30 November 2020

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to order copies of the 2021 calendar of artwork created by our very own talented students.

2021 Calendar artwork

  • The Calendars are £10 each.
  • All images are high-quality photographs of Hollyfield Students artwork.
  • Printed by a local company.
  • We think they will make great Christmas presents and are therefore placing each Calendar in an envelope in case you want to post them.

NB: If you would like your Calendar before Christmas please place your order by the end of the week.

All proceeds will go into the PTA funds which are then directed into a wide variety of school initiatives to benefit all students.

How to order your 2021 Calendar

If you would like to order one or more Calendar please:

  • Click on the link here, complete the order form
  • Transfer the payment to our account – please remember to label your payment ‘Art Calendar’.
  • We will then pass your calendars to your child to bring home for you to enjoy or deliver to you if you don’t have a child in school.

Please email ptahollyfiela@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Please can you help by donating food or a couple of pounds?

Posted on 23 November 2020

You may have seen Marcus Rashford’s campaign in the press to extend the Free School Meals scheme to cover holidays and the government’s pledge to give funds to local authorities to spend on initiatives for their areas. Unfortunately, this doesn’t cover all circumstances and hunger is affecting more and more Hollyfield students and their families.

We are therefore holding a ‘food drive’ to collect non-perishable food items in order to make up parcels to help these families. Take a look at the list below and consider buying 1 or 2 extra items in your next shop and donating them. There will be a collection bin inside the Albury main door for your donations.  Please send your donations in with your child rather than coming on site yourself to keep within Covid safe guidelines.

Monetary donations can be made at ptahollyfield@gmail.com, get in touch and we will let you know what to do. All money donated will go towards buying food for the food parcels or food/supermarket vouchers.

  • Tinned food: vegetables, fruit, beans, pulses, meat, fish
  • Longlife or dried whole milk
  • Tea bags
  • Instant Coffee
  • Sugar
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Pulses, dried or tinned
  • Lentils, dried or tinned
  • Cooking sauce: pasta, curry
  • Instant noodles
  • Jam/Marmalade
  • Peanut Butter
  • Biscuits
  • Breakfast Cereal
  • Instant Mash

For further information, if you wish to make a large donation or are an organisation wishing to donate please email ptahollyfiela@gmail.com

THANK YOU!

The Big PTA Raffle

Posted on 2 November 2020

Due to Covid 19 our PTA fundraising has taken a big hit this year, but we’d like to end this term on a high, and we need your help.
We are taking part in The Big PTA Raffle 2020, a nationwide PTA extravaganza, taking place between 20th October and 6th December 2020.
Purchase some tickets and be in with the chance of winning up to £5,000 in each of the 12 draws at www.bigptaraffle.co.uk. Each £3 ticket will generate a number that will be entered into all 12 draws.

The Big PTA Raffle 2020 is the first of its kind. October, November and December 2020 will see thousands of PTAs across England, Wales and Northern Ireland take part in a bid to raise over £120,000 collectively for local schools.

We are excited to be a part of it and look forward to seeing if you are one of the 12 lucky winners!

Can you donate a Laptop or Tablet? Help needed

Posted on 26 June 2020

The PTA are linking up with a local charity ‘The Dons Local Action Group’ to collect unused devices and re-distribute them to students who don’t currently have access to suitable technology at home to enable their learning. Some Hollyfield students have no access or limited access (due to having to share with a sibling or parent) to a computer laptop or tablet and are therefore falling behind in their studies.

Every device donated will help a student stay connected and your donation will make a huge difference to these children. Donated devices will go to students of Hollyfield School first. Once all our students in need have received a device, the Don’s Local Action group will supply other students in the area.  We are also planning to fund ‘dongles with wifi’ to enable students to get online. These will cost approximately £75 each.

Please help us bridge the digital divide.

How can you help?
If you have a laptop or tablet that is less than 8 years old, in a reasonable condition, that you no longer need, please donate it.

Please complete this online form to organise collection:  https://www.keepkidsconnected.co.uk/selectborough

Your device will be picked up and an IT specialist will securely erase the hard disk data so that it is unrecoverable using the industry standards such as DoD Short and SATA Secure Erase. Tablets will also be restored to the device factory settings, which similarly ensures any data cannot be recovered.

CloudReady, a version of ChromeOS, will then be installed so the device effectively becomes a Chromebook.

If you do not have a device that you no longer need but would still like to donate you can donate money
that will go towards funding dongles with wifi/data subscriptions. Please contact the PTA
ptahollyfield@gmail.com

Maybe your company is able to sponsor the purchase of ‘dongles with wifi’ or has devices it no longer
uses that can be donated, if so please get in touch ptahollyfield@gmail.com.

Please help us to keep Hollyfield Students connected to their education. Every device matters because every child matters.
It really will make all the difference to a student’s life.

Thank you.
